HOW TO QUALIFY:

Teams qualify to participate in a Global World Series by participating in a Global World Series Qualifier and also satisfying your home State’s USSSA and Global State Tournament requirements. Please contact your State USSSA Office for information concerning Global World Series qualifying in your State.

Teams must be registered with USSSA and registered with Global Sports to participate in Global Sports World Series Qualifiers. Team may register at www.usssa.com. Please check with your USSSA State Director for qualifiers in your area.

HOW TO ENTER:

Teams earning a berth at a Global Sports Qualifier may participate in any state's Global World Series. Teams must enter the Global Sports World Series at www.usssa.com on a first come, first served basis. Teams that qualify will not be assured a spot at a specific World Series location. Qualified teams may enter multiple Global Sports World Series. Global Sports World Series entry is $695. 

RULES:

Global Sports World Series will be governed by the USSSA National Baseball Bylaws and Rules unless noted differently below.

USSSA Rosters will be the official roster at the GS World Series. Teams may add two additional players to the official roster at team check-in at the Global Sports World Series

USSSA Baseball reserves the right to alter, change, or abbreviate the tournament format when necessary to complete the tournament due to weather.

 

GLOBAL SPORTS WORLD SERIES FORMAT:

All teams will play 4 games within pool play. After pool play is complete, teams will be seeded 1 - 24 and placed into a championship bracket. Seeding for championship play is based on USSSA pool play / tie breaker criteria. 

Pool seeding is based on:

1) USSSA Classification

2) USSSA Points

3) Geographical location. 

The tournament director has the final decision on seeding teams into pool play.

Modified double elimination

World Series Champions will be crowned from  a minimum of 2 elimination brackets based on number of entries

Global Sports World Series pool play and championship play format may vary dependent on the number of teams participating in the event.

GLOBAL SPORTS WORLD SERIES AWARDS:

Team and individual awards will be presented to the champion and runner up of the Red, White and Blue Championship Divisions.

OPENING CEREMONIES:

Opening ceremonies will be held on Wednesday, July 3, at 5:30pm at APODACA SPORTS Complex . Teams should be at field by 4:45pm to stage for the "Parade of Teams". All teams MUST participate and should be in full uniform.

 

PLAYER SOCIAL AND SKILLS COMPETITION

Team Social will follow opening ceremonies on Wednesday, July 3.

SKILLS COMPETITION DETAILS: The overall objective of the skills competition is to have every player on each team participate and enjoy the social interaction of this tremendous event. No player may enter more than one event. Awards will be presented to the champion and runner-up in each age division in each skills competition.

 

Round The Horn- (5 Players)

5 players from a team will participate in this event. Catcher will throw the ball to the 3rd baseman who will be located on 3rd base, 3rd will throw to the 2nd baseman who will be located on 2nd, 2nd will throw to 1st who will be located on 1st , 1st will throw to the shortstop who will be located on 2nd, then the shortstop will throw the ball home to the catcher. Time starts when the catcher is told to go and ends when the catcher has control of the ball thrown by the shortstop. The ball and clock are live from start to finish so all over throws are live. The ball may not be advanced to next position until player has caught the ball and touched the base.

 

Accuracy Throw - (3 Players)

Three (3) players on each team can participate. Each player will get five (5) throws to hit the target. Players must throw behind the marked position on the field. Players will be awarded one points for the ball going betwen the left hand and right hand batter's box. and three points for the ball going over home plate or between the batter boxes.

 

Base Running - (4 Players)

Four (4) players from each team will be allowed to participate. Each player will start inside the batters box and run the bases. Time will start on first step and end when touching home plate. Any additional player who has not participated in any event can participate.

 

PIN TRADING:

Pin Trading has become a huge tradition at the World Series. Players, coaches, and parents will have opportunities to trade pins throughout the week including during the Skills Competitions and Team Social. Team pins are not mandatory but certainly adds to the fun of this special event.


We do encourage every team to bring some small item like pins to trade with the other players and teams. If you decide not to go the pin route, we suggest contacting your local chamber of commerce or visitor’s bureau about obtaining items to trade.

WORLD SERIES ADMISSION:

Admission during the World Series for persons 10 years of age and older will be $7 per day or $24 per person for a World Series Pass. Children 5 - 10 years of age will be $5 per day or $18 per child for a World Series Pass. Children 5 years of age and younger are admitted free. Admission applies to everyone except participating uniformed players and a maximum of three coaches per team.
